GUY SENIOR OUTFIT GUIDE

Your senior session should feel like you. Choose outfits that you feel comfortable and confident in, while giving yourself a little variety throughout your gallery. I recommend choosing 2–3 different looks.

1) Casual

Start with something that feels like your everyday style:

  • A polo or classic button-down

  • Sweater, quarter-zip, or vest.

  • Well-fitting jeans, chinos or khakis

  • Clean sneakers, loafers or casual boots

Neutral and classic colors photograph beautifully. Think navy, cream, light blue, olive, tan, gray and brown.

2) Elevated

This is a great opportunity to dress things up a little! An elevated outfit gives your gallery a timeless look and is especially nice for photos your family may want to frame.

  • A blazer or sport coat with a button-down

  • Dress pants or chinos

  • A suit, if you already own one

  • Loafers or dress shoes

  • An optional tie or bow tie

You don't have to go super formal, even adding a blazer over a simple shirt can completely change the look.

3) Make It Personal

Your senior photos are about documenting this season of your life, so bring something that feels uniquely you.

Consider incorporating:

  • Your future college sweatshirt or jersey

  • A favorite jacket

  • A sports uniform

  • Cowboy boots

  • An instrument

  • Something connected to a hobby or interest

  • Another outfit that simply feels like your personal style

A Few Styling Tips

  • Keep it classic. Solid colors, small patterns and simple textures tend to photograph best and won't distract from you.

  • Pay attention to fit. Clothes that fit well will almost always photograph better than something oversized or too tight.

  • Bring layers: Jackets, blazers, quarter-zips and sweaters are an easy way to create more variety without changing your entire outfit.

  • Don't forget the shoes. Your shoes will show! Make sure they're clean and coordinate with your outfit.

  • Skip distracting details. Avoid neon colors, large logos, graphics and extremely busy patterns when possible.

    Before Your Session

  • Steam or iron anything wrinkled

  • Clean your shoes

  • Coordinate your belt and shoes

  • Empty your pockets

  • Bring outfits on hangers
