The best outfits are the ones that feel like you, comfortable, confident, and authentic. As you plan your senior photos, here are a few simple guidelines to help you look and feel your best.

Your senior photos should still feel just as beautiful years from now. Neutral tones, soft colors, and classic silhouettes photograph beautifully in natural light. Think:

  • Cream, white, tan, soft blue, sage, muted pink

  • Flowy dresses, structured tops, tailored jeans

  • Simple layering pieces with texture like cardigans or denim jackets

  • Avoid large logos, bold graphics, large patterns, neon colors or overly trendy pieces that may feel dated later

  • Dress for the season:

Spring/summer- linens, cotton, lace, chambray, silk

Fall/Winter- chunky knits, sweaters, cardigans, corduroy, wool, and denim

Choose 2–3 Outfits with Variety

Your session includes multiple outfits, aim for contrast. Variety adds depth to your gallery without feeling repetitive.

1) One dressy look (flowy sun dress or skirt)

2) Casual, everyday outfit (blue jeans, cute flattering top, favorite sneakers!)

3) Fun fashion moment, wear your favorite dress, pattern, add color, heels

Optional: something meaningful (sports jersey, college tee, instrument, favorite books)

Confidence Over Trends

The most important thing you can wear is confidence. If you feel uncomfortable tugging at straps or adjusting your outfit, it will show. Choose pieces that fit well and allow you to move naturally. Senior sessions are meant to feel relaxed, your clothing should support that.

Don’t Forget the Details

Small details make a difference:

  • Clean shoes (yes, they show in photos!)

  • Simple jewelry that complements rather than distracts

  • Neutral nails

  • Light, natural makeup that enhances your features

When in doubt, keep it simple.
